Serious Fun at Sandalwood

At The Rehabilitation Center at Sandalwood, we know how to have fun! Keeping our long-term care residents’ minds and bodies active is an excellent way for you to make new friends and enjoy your stay with us. All residents are encouraged to participate in various activities that are offered throughout the day.

Residents even have the ability to “shop” on-site at our SandalMart Store. Open for a few hours throughout the week, residents can visit the store to purchase snacks, cosmetics, toiletries, magazines and other items to brighten their day.

A Sampling of Our Weekly Activities Include:

• Shopping trips to WalMart, Target, dollar stores and thrift stores
• Outings to sporting events, such as Rockies baseball games, Black Hawk, dining trips to local restaurants, driving trips to the mountains, animal shelter visits
• Pet therapy visits
• Volunteer visits
• Crafts
• Live music (vocal and instrumental)
• Knitting/crochet classes
• Spiritual programs
• Diverse music
• Movie nights
• Happy hour and karaoke
• Weekly ice cream socials
• BINGO games
• Church and worship services

The Activity department also plans special events throughout the year. These are great opportunities for the families of our residents to get involved and create memories with their loved ones.
